HOW IT ALL STARTED

SprayKC was given the opportunity to turn a once blighted five-story building on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO, into a giant work of art. The Plaza is no stranger to art, however, SprayKC presented it with art it’s never seen before! Art in the form of giant murals, some 20 feet tall by 70 feet wide. Additionally, the location of the now colorful building serves as a backdrop to where Kansas City gathers to march, protest, and share their concerns with the community in Mill Creek Park.

The artwork on the building was done by some of Kansas City’s best artists and artists from across the state in Springfield and St. Louis, Northwest Arkansas, Denver, CO, and Venice, CA. Some of the artists are immigrants from Uraguay, Mexico, and Russia.

“The message of unity and caring is one that we’re trying to put out there.” - Vince Sanders, founder of SprayKC
