We love working with schools and this was an important one. Before this project started JT Daniels, an amazing muralist invited some of the students from AIMS School into his studio. While there they got to learn about art, they created art together, and they learned that if they want to pursue a career in the arts they can do so!

At AIMS in Blue Springs, MO, their mission is to reignite the love of learning through exploration and discovery. AIMS is designated for students for whom the traditional instructional setting is not a good fit. AIMS thrives with success in a smaller setting with less structured curriculum, more hands-on experiences, and more relationship-building time with their teachers and peers.

For AIMS JT Daniels hustled and knocked out two murals, one outside at the entrance of the school and another in one of their activity classrooms.

“This was fun to paint during the heat wave, but even more enjoyable hearing about the reactions from both incoming and returning students. All but one of the figures in this mural were references to participating students from the previous year.” - JT Daniels

After the murals were complete we got to work with the students and see their hands-on entrepreneurial skills. The students grow plants and have a packaged brownie mix that they sell and through this, they’re learning real-world skills! We invited the students and instructors to be part of a Strawberry Swing Maker event in The West Bottoms and the students shined that day!
