We were lucky to work with this amazing school once before, during the height of the pandemic when we created the coolest auditorium and cafeteria ever by painting five murals. A few years passed and then board member, Christine Kemper reached out to see if we wanted to do some more murals at the school and we had to say yes!
KC Girls Prep Academy by name is a relatively new school, set in a large building ready to grow with its ever-increasing attendance. This project called for two murals in their renovated space that would now welcome their first middle schoolers to KCGPA.
The process began on the second to last day of school when we met with the students and Katie Lee was on board for this journey. A former school teacher herself, she was made to handle the excited students as they counted down the hours to the end of their school year.
Amidst their excitement, she sat with the students and asked them what would best represent them and what they would like to see on the walls of their classroom. We came back over summer break to paint the murals and as usual, Katie Lee absolutely crushed it. It was great to work with and inspire the students of this fine institution once again!
